I agree...it's how amazing Andy is live that has always impressed me the most. Not that he isn't very good on the studio tracks--it's simply that, with modern technology and/or 300 takes it's not necessarily a sign of a unique talent. Seeing him perform live leaves no doubt, however.

Time to bump this one.

Andy Ramsay, dude, you rock! Often overlooked that besides T & L, he was with the group the longest. "L'enfer des formes" is one of my favorite Andy moments, just the way it starts with that quick 1-2 drop and accelerates into a solid upbeat with some great rolls.

i always tell people he's the greatest drummer around. he is the foundation of the whole Stereolab sound IMO.

Favourite drummer. Read in interview for Chemical Chords they slowed and sped up click during recording and then corrected it to create weird textural effects. Wish I lived in UK so could rent his studio...
