ok so i know the big 'two note' chord that tim used on pretty much every song before ETK, but i don't know how to perfectly execute the couple other chords he used. Specifically, the other two chords on 'mars audiac quintet'. (think the first three chords of 'three dee melodie', or the chords of 'nihilist assault group', etc.) does anyone has a nice tidy list of these chords that they were using during the early-lab years? thanks. ............................................... three dee melodie has only two chords E/D but they are played with different added notes and bass notes to make sound...hm..more rich

ah, maybe I'm mistaken try this for three dee melody (on guitar) E 779997 E* 779777 (don't remember the name of the chord, but it's often used by lab, for example on "Flower called nowhere) looks pretty correct

how i play it, three dee melodie (the first chord being the famous tim chord): e ---0 ----0-----0---| a ---2 ----5-----7---| d ---2 ----X-----9---| g ---4 ----7-----9---| b ---5 ----7-----9---| e ---0 ----0-----0---| it sounds pretty good, meh.. i could get a good look at tim's hands during a bootleg or something to get a better idea...if no one else knows?

if stereolab ONLY plays 3 or 4 chords and you couldn't figure out what they were you need to find a new instrument. sorry to say. you have no potential. |
