Re: Classic late-period Fall

That's a great little film to go with that tune. It encapsulates perfectly a crumbling northern England in the post-war period.

Let me ask an honest question, though.

You people are calling out for "justice" to be served. How is justice served by further ruining the victim's life, whose wish it is to see the case dropped? How is justice served by breaking up Polanski's family and putting him in prison for the rest of his life? Especially when he is rehabilitated and is not a threat to society?

Do you really worship Law as your god? So much that you would be willing to cause suffering to see it served?

No one really answered these questions...because they can't.

Re: Roman Polanski arrested in Switzerland

So, there are some headlines that Polanski is "depressed and dejected" after spending weeks in jail.

Okay, so justice is being served, and maybe he will be extradited and then we will see how it plays out in court...my question is...

Why are people barbaric and vindictive? Why all the comments like "Good, I'm glad he's depressed! I hope he rots in jail!"

If you go to any website where there are user comments you'll see them, no matter what the topic. It could be comments about a woman unable to lose weight being a "fat pig!" or whatever.

Have people lost their minds? What happened to human decency?

Well, that begs the question of whether people have ever been decent. Hammurabi's code has always been more popular than the Golden Rule. Man started playing God since he left Eden (metaphorically speaking), and Man will continue to pay the Karma for it.

But, uh, flying spaghetti monster. Etc.
