I think what we're talking about is comparing horse manure to ice cream. Just kidding. I'm big fans of both. Have all the cd's. I love em'. They're different. I like the rock grooves, sweet melodies, dissonant phrasing, and noise collages. If I want to hear something that isn't as jarring as Sonic Youth there's thousands of other bands that do the same old shit. And yeah, the lab didn't break up (officially) but whatever. SY will be making records for some time and will give me something to look forward to. The Eternal was the best album I bought this year.
