"Real" Vampires?? lol

I'm not even getting into the movie fad. I'm more amused by the people who go out of their way to get fangs and actually drink blood. Someone please explain that one to me. lol

Re: real vampires

You can chase a vampire away with some garlic or fire, but if the vampire bites you, you’ll be in real trouble. Not from the bite, but from the lack of health care to fix it.

Can you even imagine the reasons your insurance company would come up with to deny that claim? Suddenly, having friends who wear black capes would be a pre-existing condition and blood transfusions would be an experimental procedure.

Re: A word to the wise...

The protection of garlic is the best part. Tid bits: The word garlic comes from Old English garleac, meaning "spear leek."

Folklore holds that garlic repelled vampires, protected against the Evil Eye, and warded off jealous nymphs said to terrorize pregnant women and engaged maidens.

Re:

they can't act that is fo sho. I sat through that damned movie this weekend with the mumbling and the muttering.
re: vampires, people are so odd. they do the darnedest things. there is a bunch of those vampire people in New Orleans and some real vampires. I really believe in vampires, anything under the sun is possible. I can't believe vampires are so popular. I understand the immortality aspect but why be a vampire when you can be a robot. It's such an antiquated notion. blood why do you need blood? there's synthetic blood and other life sustaining mock tissue. synthetic tissue and synthetic skin whatever you want if you've got the money. the practice of medicine is so outdated. It is only practiced because of the stockpiles of medical supplies and of course, the corporations it supports, the industry. I mean I could make a zombie, fo sho, fo sho. give me a team and a budget and I'll make you a zombie. there's zombie making teams all over the world. shhh they're top secret. these are the real endeavors of the government. the deep philosophical solutions. I'm all for it!! I want to be a robot. so badly so badly so badly

Re:

all you really need is a brain. all the other organs are auxiliary. you don't even need a heart you can buy an artificial heart, fill your body cavity with robotic parts, have a visceral artificial area for padding and shape, run your brain on electrically charged fluid and a blood mimicking nourishing solution. then put a computer in there, top it off with a carbon fiber "skull" and you're good to go. you'll live forever. then we can clone your brain if the old one goes bad, replace it with the new one. you just petition to be a robot. that's all you do. get on the list.
