My PC is pretty full, but I don't want to buy a new one just yet. Can iTunes 'sync' with an external hard-drive or stick? Or can iTunes only play songs on my PC's hard-drive? Help :) ............................................... Help :) That is my day job. "Computer Guy" It is no problem to store files on an external drive and have them played and organized through iTunes. The thing iTunes can't do, is manage libraries in more than one location. The songs can be in as many locations as you like, but iTunes can only manage the ones that are in a single location (again, this can be an external hard drive). In other words, if you change the name of a song in iTunes, and that song is in your managed location, the file name will change. If you change an artist name (say from John Smith, to Smith, John) the folder that it was in will chance accordingly. If the item is not in your managed library this will not happen and can cause problems. Just ask more questions if you have them and I'd be happy to help out.

So, I would need to put all my songs on my external HD, for iTunes to work properly? |
