I suppose, if you have a slow computer. I have a new-ish computer and it doesn't slow it down even a hair. It's no problem whatsoever. I'm pretty careful about downloads, and read reviews first. I want something that will work, and doesn't have that crap. I don't blindly download things.

Good policies.

I think if people are careful with what they download and install, update anti-virus religiously, and occasionally check the activity monitor for suspicious exe files, Windows is a solid OS.

Can you believe I bought another 50 shares yesterday when it was at 201. Now 211. Sure it will go up and down a bit, but Mr. Jobs says, "This Will Be The Most Important Thing I've Ever Done." so I am all in.

You will have many people that will tell you that this is a big failure. Ugly. Pointless. Etc.

But, the stock has gone up 10 point in 30 minutes. So the people who talk with their bank account have spoken.

??? What, 10 basis points? The stock finished slightly up today. Never did it spike significantly.

Not that the correlation between stock market anticipation and consumer demand is particularly high in the tech sector anyway. (For the record, the US stock specialists I work with are split 50/50 as to whether or not the iPad will meet/exceed expectations or fall flat.)

Barclays. AAPL target $5 to $265 after strong
Goldman. AAPL new $230 price target.

Re: IPad

If you mean target price then say it. Not that any self-respecting buy-side PM (the force which actually moves the markets, not retail bank accounts) gives a rat's ass what CS or anyone's target price is.

Not trying to get huffy...but just as you were getting a bit cranky about non-IT people saying things that were coherent to an IT professional such as yourself, well, here we are in my neck of the woods, so...

Having said all that, I'm sure Apple's stock will do fine for the next few years. Then it will wither for a decade. Then they'll release the iCar and be saved.
