The food pyramid represents a whole grain based diet. which historically is the proper diet for a human. we weren't meant to eat flesh everyday and there are other sources of protein; legumes, dairy, etc. I was my thinnest when I adhered to a macrobiotic diet which is ALL carbs! So there!
and beware after my father followed the Atkins diet, his cardiologist found a 98% plaque blockage in his coronary artery. So, I'd beware of those hi protein ie. high cholesterol diets!! You might drop weight but not without consequences.
The best exercise for losing weight is that that elevates and sustains your heart rate over 150 bpm. That's what I've been doing.
