fave lab lyric

I like Hallucinex... minimalist lyrics... great message... and the lyrics are married perfectly to the lyrics... a mini masterpiece really

kabang!

Re: fave lab lyric

lonely walker humanoid
listening to forgotten sounds
tasting smells and colours
hiking mounts crossing rivers
humble biped you've come undone
you detached the mechanical
freedom it inspires
fusing with your desire

primal hiker lonely walker
rediscovering your own pace
left here to go elsewhere
abandon all impatience

reposess the senses
impression of freedom
time doesn't know itself
has mingle path and dream
animal survivor
you belong to nature
reposess the senses
impression of freedom
time doesn't know itself
has mingle path and dream

animal survivor
you belong to nature
reposess the senses
impression of freedom
time doesn't know itself
has mingle path and dream
animal survivor
you belong to nature
dreams of return to nature
barred with satellite dishes

I'm partial to that song.

Re: fave lab lyric

I especially like that, "time doesn't know itself," part. and that, "repossess the senses," part. That's really keen insight. I really need to repossess my senses again where I feel like everything is a new experience. I really want to attain that for myself. a rejuvenation of my neural afferent responses. God, I sound neurotic ! I sound like a whiny neurotic doing a Woody Allen impersonation, mewling over my desensitization I've worked so hard all these years to cultivate.
I have no right to complain, what with all the problems in the world, everyone should have these petty complaints. I just need to give up on the perfectionism. There is no perfect objective. oh that's bull shit yes there is yes there is. that's just something the shrink tells you out of liability. psychology is kind of a crock. but it helps people get along in life.
I like many elements about this song. I like it when the music kind of meanders to the right and to the left...repeat. then I like the strings at the end. I like the lyrics because it makes me think of a primal man or arriving on another planet. and what are you going to do in that situation? I don't know. It's just a rock song so it really doesn't advise as much as it equivocates. which is kind of a disappointment because I'm really seeking answers.
but again, and this is my own theory, I believe when I reach outside of myself for a media format, a new gadget, widget or something I really feel I need for my enjoyment, pleasure, or enhancement that the enjoyment and the entertainment and the wisdom I am ultimately seeking is that which I already keep. but society and the media belittles me in order to sell me something I don't need, so everyone will have a job and everyone will be able to eat. I'm just as guilty with my superfluous existence. I really believe that the purpose of art is to entice the buyer. Now that doesn't mean people should market shoddy products. but they do. and some people really get off on crappy stuff.
I dunno I'm not really the arbiter of these things. I just want everyone to feel some satisfaction. but what I believe we are looking for is something to identify with and that thing is ourselves. That I am looking for me. a can of soup must reflect me. I'm chasing the montage of items that best represent me, not to others, but back to myself so I'll be satisfied with myself and my life.
for now, I've said my piece...more on sense rejuvenation later.

Re: fave lab lyric

This one seems profound, but I think it is about a couch potato:

The beauty of this creature could only be equaled by
The extent of its paradox only be equaled by
Because it wanted two things
Opposite and conflicting
It wanted the light it wanted everything in sight
Wanted to dominate or at least to participate
But only in comforts
Of its chair and its slippers
The curiosity of the extra-ordinary creature
Was indeed limited because it could not suffer
The unknown in any shape or form
At the same time of wanting to look everywhere
Set up at the top of its tower
The creature revealed in being a spectator
Through the glass what a glorious view
Relishing the gift of so much transparence
Having had absolutely no influence

Re: fave lab lyric

correction: my efferent neural responses. I wrote afferent. I transposed the two.

Re: fave lab lyric

oh my goodness, it WAS afferent. I looked it up in the dictionary just to make certain and I was correct the first time. That rarely ever happens.
