I had a few friends round last night, one of which is a Kiwi. New Zealand is right on a fault line (I didn't know this) and his family think it's just a matter of time. Must be quite disconcerting for people living in high risk areas. I'm thinking Tokyo, LA, SF. 200,000 dead in Haiti, 50,000 in Turkey a few years ago. Unreal. Hope something big isn't in the offing.

Yeah, that's me in SF. Occasionally I think about my earthquake preparedness, supplies etc.

But, as usual, certain members of humankind are more than prepared to take advantage of the financial gains to be had from living near these fault lines and are also totally unprepared to make the huge investments in building technology that would prevent large loss of life. What cripples me is that most of those that die will be those that are already disenfranchised and downcast in life and not enough million/billionaires are culled - you can bet they'd invest their money in the preventative measures then. ~8^|>

Any geologist knows that producing a man made earthquake is not out of the realm of possibility. Haven't you guys ever heard of HARP? I know you guys think I'm just a paranoid. but eugenics is alive and well in the world and two hundred thousand dead Haitians is an example. Ever since my daughter was in Katrina my outlook on natural disasters has changed. Weather is manipulatable and can be used as a weapon. Educate yourselves. I know I sound like a paranoid. Do you not believe that we can put a man on the moon but we cannot create and manipulate deadly weather systems and other disasters? Do you have any idea how easy it is to produce a tornado? This is how the media makes it's living!! These disasters claim millions of lives, raise billions of dollars of for "aid", and make tons of commercial money for the media *and a word on *aid* it wasn't the Red Cross or any of these other aid groups people donate their money to that helped after hurricane Katrina with the big needs. Most of the responsibility fell into the hands of Uncle Sam! Not these opportunists!* but I really don't know enough to talk about these subjects but it's all about one thing, well two things; eugenics and MONEY MONEY MONEY do your research! Man has learned to replicate mother nature. Now I'm not saying this happens 100% of the time, but I'm BET my LIFE it happens!

Maybe God, created Haarp so people would stop blaming him for all the natural disasters? Anyway you slice it God's just got to be lovin' on this Haarp thing.

If you want to keep underestimating the capabilities of science and mankind be my guest. Doesn't cause me a bit of harm. You believe what you want to believe but I prefer to know the truth. It's know skin off my teeth. but don't oh geez or oh sheesh me like I'm completely off my rocker. These ideas might seem off base to you but they don't to most geologists or meteorologists. so before you open your mouth and try to repudiate factual information and denigrate me, why don't you do a little research on your own. It's wasted breath on my behalf. Nevermind, Cyberpainter, I forgot you know everything about earthquakes; you live on a fault line. Well, guess what ?? I live in the middle of nowhere, where people actually manufacture small richter quakes . We have more geologists per capita than anywhere in the world So don't sheesh me.

I mean, my God, you don't think we have meteorologists and geologists working for the defense department? and then if so, what do you think they're doing there? Predicting weather patterns? Come on man. Aw man, as much as I love Stereolab, I'm beginning to think I've outgrown this forum. It makes me so sad to say that. Aside from Stereolab, I don't have anything in common with these people anymore.
