two songs that I thought I'd mention Italian Shoes - isn't this song gorgeous?... well yet it is... I'm not sold on the second part though but the first part is heavenly... I just wish Mary was there too... she isn't right? So I guess Latitia well just have to handle the badadu badadu's herself... I love those space age sound effects too... I never thought much about Three Longers but then I recalled that a forum member said that it was their favourite so I had another listen... and another... and another.... The first part has this beautiful vintage space age vibe like early lab and I can never tire of Mary doing her la la la's and then the song swings into the second half which is harder... I mean it kind of rocks hard but in a pretty lab way... and it sound deep you know? like radiohead deep... and a bit dark... like white album dark... it has depth... artistic merit and all that... when was this 94? what was big at the time? Oasis? Pearl Jam? Where was this paying played? ugh ............................................... My favorite part of ISC is the second part, by far actually.

i think in both instances both parts of both songs are co-dependent on the stellar contrast of their partner. i love when they 'switch' direction in a song.

Italian Shoes Continuum: amazing track, especially the first part. An example of Stereolab really stretching out. I wish they do this kind of thing in future...or I wish they do anything!

The change in the second half does seem to flow with the first half. The second half is more fun to listen to though. (Laetitia would not admit it but the song is about the sheer ecstasy of buying a new pair of shoes and Italian shoes to boot!) Here’s the lyrics…oh yeah…it’s about shoes. Pursue the Natural Not the sorrow Of his/its wings He/it returns Leave it In the veins To run like The water of the seine His/its path
