I just found this story a bit bizarre. _______________________________________________ The Supreme Court agreed today to rule on free-speech protection for public protests and whether a dead soldier's family can sue religious protesters who picketed their son's funeral with signs that said, "Thank God for dead soldiers." http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/sc-dc-funeral-protests-20100308,0,7343640.story ............................................... Some people don't deserve to be Americans. I've had it with the media spreading these lies that there something wrong with America, and liberals are bad, and Republicans are bad, and the dollar is worthless, and socialized medicine is bad. It's all a bunch of propaganda. How dare they try to induce turmoil to sell their little pamphleteering enterprises. It doesn't solve any problems. Our complaint manager is Helen Waite. Go to Helen Waite with your complaints. And FYI our CFO is Robert Barron. I don't feel these people are very patriotic. I don't think we should burn them at the stake. We shouldn't cobble them. but it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other...these organizations are not always beneficial. it's more like 9 of one and 3 of the other, take your pick. Yes, go to Helen Wait with your complaints. *ba dum dum*

They sometimes make them stay a certain distance away, which I think might be a good compromise.

I remember during Bush's years, they would have "free speech zones", a mile down the road, around the corner, well out of site of the event. I could be exaggerating just a little, but it was bad almost like they weren't even there.

I was thinking more about how protesters block abortion clinics. At a funeral? Should be further back than within eyeshot maybe.

We shouldn't give them the attention then they might dry up and fall off like a scab.

The First Admendment also has restrictions on free speech which can be interpreted in favor of the law enforcing entity such as claiming they are providing "protection from imminent or potential violence against particular persons."
