Re: Whatcha listening to this week?

Part One is sooooo awesome. I still listen to that pretty regularly. I think Part Two will be better on hot summer nights.

I actually thought Pitchfork's review of it was right on.

Re: Whatcha listening to this week?

I would have liked more musical (instrumental) diversity with Echobelly, but then I'm hard to please with music these days.

Now...La Mezzanine de L'Alcazar...I could listen to that all day!

Sexy music selection you have there.

Apart from that it is all about SLEATER KINNEY for me at the moment...just discovering them really, submerged myself in their seven albums...excellent band, unfortunately now split up.

they're also on 'hiatus' actually -- they never officially split. the lead singer's working on some solo stuff which is supposed to be coming out soon!

The Pearl: Budd and Eno

Lovely album that. Budd deserves more recognition, "The White Arcades" and "The Room" are fantastic, and the Cocteau Twins collaboration was great too. Thanks for mentioning this album as it has reminded me I will need to seek out the rest of his stuff from over the years :)

Soon I will see Janet as half of Quasi in a tiny basement pub in Glasgow! I am very excited :)
