Eaten Horizons Or The Electrocution of Rock

Gah! I finally managed to get a copy and I think it's brilliant, how on earth did i go without it for so long?! A fascinating insight into the groop's songwriting process at the time, and also truly wonderful listening into the bargain. In an odd way some of the recordings put me in mind of parts of Spacemen 3 at times in overall sound, although for them I suppose that was their finished record and not just rough demos.

Personally I love the stripped-downness and intimacy of these "lo-fi" recordings, and it's interesting to hear early versions with the Laetitia / Laetitia vocals on some of the tracks (kind of like how things are now with the multitracking on the records). But the best parts for me are when Mary contributes on a few of the songs and it is really wonderful to hear a fresh (to me) recording of her vocals. Such a sweet voice.

And "ZigZag Song" is totally amazing!
