Matthew Friedberger from the Fiery Furnaces has mentioned he really admires their experimental approach to making music. But I think Animal Collective best fits the bill. They're prolific, restlessly experimental, and sorta dancey, just like the Groop. What do you think? i really don't like Animal Collective. or Fiery Furnaces.

Agreed with Mars Rover - Animal Collective stinks. I think the most interesting voice out there right now is Juana Molina's. As for an "heir" to Stereolab... I just don't think there is one at the moment. Le Futur Pompiste might be if they became more prolific..? |

I agree that the groups mentioned here don't fit the bill. You would need a conglomeration of the aforementioned. Le Futur Pompiste would need to be more creative. Perhaps the members of the groop once known as Sterolab will get something new going. |
