I think he's an amazing drummer in Tortoise. What a great show that was last night! Dual drummers, dual vibes.. just spectacular. Highly recommend you see them if they come your way. ............................................... Bands with double drumming are just cool. This is classic early Fall double-drumming. CP, you'll probably hate it...but I hope not! :)

Did ye go and see them in Edinburgh last time? It was shite, rubbish crowd (as always in the capital, atmosphere of the moon). Manipulated footage of Ozzy / Barbara Streisand just before was hilarious though :) MES left the stage after about 4 1/2 songs, yet apparently they played a blinder in Aberdeen the following night....seems Edinburgh got the gig it's shit crowd deserved. I had to laugh, but felt pretty ripped off, coming all the way through from Glasgow.... Come back to the ferry soon, please!

Yes, hobo, I did make the Edinburgh gig. It was well pish!! We got in just as the band took to the stage. The songs sounded OK, but the crowd were poor. Glasgow gigs are so much better! I think I am jinxed. Last tour I was at the ill fated Aberdeen gig, only for them to play a blinder in Edinburgh the next night (I wasn't there). And vice versa this time. The moral of the story is....only go to Glasgow Fall gigs :) |

I don't hate it, just don't listen to that kind of music much except as nostalgia. |

Can't listen yet, but Tortoise did a session while they were in LA with Beck, for his record club. That should be fun to hear. Thurston Moore too, which hopefully wouldn't ruin it. Too many cooks etc. http://www3.timeoutny.com/chicago/blog/out-and-about/2010/06/becks-record-club-welcomes-tortoise-and-thurston-moore/ And a link which doesn't include the music for some reason, of an interesting sounding Tortoise track, Ice Ice Gravy. I want to hear this. http://chicago.timeout.com/articles/music/86512/tracks-school-of-seven-bells-tortoise-music-review/2.html |
