Cool. Thanks for posting. Orcas are such fascinating creatures.

The ones around here are divided into distinct populations, some of which eat nothing but fish, others of which eat nothing but seals & other sea mammals. Though these populations live in the same area, they are believed to speak different "languages" and generally avoid contact with one another.

Orcas will occasionally kill porpoises & larger baleen whales for sport, but always leave the mutilated carcasses uneaten. Perhaps this is some sort of vestigial behavior from the days when other whales were a source of food?
