UK politics thread shocker!!! - David Cameron

I must say - I like him. He is very assured and suave. He talks with believable authority on almost every topic. The Conservative Party seem to be changing, albeit slowly. DC must say the word "social" in every interview he does. He says a lot of good stuff. They will serve England well when they get in to power. This, in a nutshell, is their biggest problem. After being mauled in the last 3 elections in Scotland and Wales they seem to have given up on these areas. Are they too afraid of alienating 'Middle England' by trying to attract Scots/Welsh voters? I think so.

I'll never vote for him/them (charcters like Osborne/Redwood/Johnson are utterly repellant) but I can see how some people would. I really cant wait until our next General Election - its really quite exciting. The Nat's are bound to do well, but I predict a Labour 4th term in one of the greatest comebacks since Bobby Ewing - Go Gordon!!

I, on the other hand, can't stand him. And i don't think the labour party are going to have the comeback you suggest. They're doomed.

Re: UK politics thread shocker!!! - David Cameron

If he is very assured, suave and talks with believable authority on the issues then DC sounds like a good leader. As he will not be a dictator and the issues I assume will be voted on by a governing body then all he has to do is be convincing in his arguments.

Thankyou.

So you don't like him, but you think he will win? Just like Maggie Thatcher - hated but rated!

Nice avatar

He is very electable. He reminds me of Tony Blair in '97. Style over substance etc but he looks the part.

Re: UK politics thread shocker!!! - David Cameron

Slightly surreal moment there - new Stereolab look website and first post I read is someone saying they like David Cameron. Surely not - I can't believe anyone could actually look at this pompous self satisfied toff and think he's alright. There is a sickening inevitability about him becoming the next PM and its scary. Mend a broken society David - don't make me laugh. He'll carry on making the rich richer and the poor poorer - he's a Tory for god's sake. Sorry for ranting. Quite like the new look site I think.
