Re: Prog Fans. Your help please.

progressive rock was one of the first genres I started exploring. I like the music a lot but I have to say that in general 'the prog fan(atic)' is a dork of the highest order.

some of my favourite albums:

Van der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts
Peter Hammill - Nadir's Big Chance
King Crimson - Lizard
Yes - Close to the Edge
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Caravan - For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night
Locanda delle Fate - Forse le lucciole non si amano pi? (there's some really good Italian prog from the 70s, PFM, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Museo Rosenbach, Metamorfosi etc)
Henry Cow - Unrest
Comus - First Utterance
Gila - Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee
Amon D??l II - Phallus Dei
Popol Vuh - Br?der des Schattens - S?hne des Lichts
Gong - Flying Teapot
Camel - Moonmadness
Sebastian Hardie - Four Moments
Split Enz - Mental Notes

I've been buying some reissues of 70s Australian psych/prog albums.

Star Spangled Banger - s/t
Tamam Shud - Goolutionites & the Real People
Spectrum - Milesago
Rainbow Theatre - The Armada

Mammatus, Titan (from Brooklyn), Comets on Fire are good for newer stuff.

Ozric Tentacles... Curious Corn, Jurassic Shift
