Breaking up Monade was a HUGE mistake

Ms. Sadier solo is boring.

Ugh. Can't you make your point without being such an obnoxious provocateur?

Re: Breaking up Monade was a HUGE mistake

Yes; Monade had that cool bass player and their most recent album was their best.

Re: Breaking up Monade was a HUGE mistake

uh...it's not like she's able to provide a solid retirement plan and medical benefits. this is how it works with bands. people move on in different directions.

her point of view is still really fascinating to me and her voice just as interesting, if not more interesting. we've only seen solo performances so far so I find it ridiculous to judge "the Trip" based on that only.

Laetitia is a treasure. I'm mildly sickened by these nasty words about her honestly.

Give her a chance! We've not really heard any substantial solo material yet. At least she's got the guts to do something that pleases her, and not pander to people who just want a 'Lab clone album. Her collaboration with Atlas Sound was amazing...far better than Chemical Chords IMO.

Re: Breaking up Monade was a HUGE mistake

no. The album hasn't even come out yet? How can you determine that? We have only heard 2-3 songs from the album. Yes the album seems to be a bit elegiac on the one song and maybe the tone, but we don't know that until we listen to the entire album. It might bore you but some of us might feel down at times and want to listen to it. It might have a turn around element to it, uplifting. How can you say that when you haven't even heard the whole album, as the artist intended? just a few snippets from YouTube??? Hey YouTUBE doesn't have ay footage of her playing trombone I say POO POO POO POO POO POO on that!!

From the Collins dictionary and thesaurus:

2. insubstantial:

weak, flimsy, feeble, poor, inadequate, insufficient, tenuous, insignificant, unconvincing, implausible, unsatisfactory, paltry. antonym - sound.

I don't think Laetitia's solo work to date is insubstantial. On the contrary it is incredibly powerful in her courage to sit before the world and bear her soul about incredibly deep and personal things like the tragic death of her sister. Her solo sound has a gentle and vulnerable timbre as though she is forming sonic crystalline structures - so delicate that even if you breath too deeply near them they will crumble into sparkling dust and be lost forever...

Let's tread gently as we walk on her dreams.
