Not Music - track 6 - Silver Sands - an apology
Hi All,
Am currently on holiday and this led to a lax attitude in checking our press release which in turn has led to a slight cock up on the tracklisting front.
Track number 6 on Not Music is indeed Silver Sands but it's the mighty remix version by Emperor Machine.
I apologise for any confusion.

We hope to have the tracks up on iTunes within a few weeks but unsure of a physical release at the moment.

Sometimes there just isn't anything to say or we haven't quite worked out what to do and aren't ready to make an announcement

Another remix, sequenced in the middle of the album...a disputable choice.
I will reserve my final opinion for after I have heard the track, but this is not very promising.

Ok, but at least the cover and the track list could have been announced in the forum or in the news section!
If Pitchfork got the info, it must mean that you were ready to announce it.
Not a big deal, really as it does not matter where the news come from, especially if it is a good one.
But it just seems to show what a low priority Stereolab is at the moment for anyone within their circle.

I know, it is a bit sad that there probably won't be a CD. But at least I am glad we'll be able to hear it.

The original idea was just to have the remixes on the vinyl but then we'd have complaints that they were missing from the CD or the download so we've decided to add both mixes.
The mixes were originally used on blogs and didn't get heard by everyone plus we think that they are great mixes and in terms of vinyl the ends of the sides make the best sense for their positioning.
They are also mixes of songs that are of the same period as the rest of the Not Music tracks.
Just wanted to let you know the reasoning as to why they are on the disks.
