8 is okay, but it's really kind of a repeat of the same noise that you would expect from a free-form SY jam/collaboration. I mean, how many times am I really going to listen to all those? Yet I buy them.

Really? I think this one and the one before is their most boring albums ever. I love Calexico, but I think their latest releases are just, uh, tunes, nothing more. Well played and all that, but it lacks something I think. I think I prefer their more quirky tour albums more than their "official" albums.
Maybe I'm missing something and have to listen to them more, but so far the two last albums (plus the one together with Iron & Wine) are too slick and uninteresting, maybe even overproduced.
A shame since I love their music so much!
