Re: Killing Moon

He'e the yo-yo man, always up and down....

I have tried many times with Echo...I really don't dig the 80s production. I like their 'comeback' stuff better.

You are not going to like this

As I Am - Alicia Keys

Damn its good - I love Wreckless Love

I saw her last night in Perth - excellent show except she didn't play Wake Up. a beautiful open air gig at the sandelford Winery.

Re: You are not going to like this

Peter, who cares what anyone is not going to like? Seriously, Fleet Foxes somehow became like this universally important artist or what, but Alicia Keys is maligned for being mainstream? Music fans still haven't sorted out their boundaries.

And FWIW, I like Erykah Badu and India.Arie.

Re: my top 10 favorite albums of 2008 are...

I think it's still a little to early for this but well... without any order, it could be something like this :

Bardo Pond - Batholith
Gang Gang Dance - Saint Dymphna
Johann Johannsson - Forlandia
Mathieu Boogaerts - I Love You
Huntsville - Eco, Arches & Eras
Arne Nordheim - The Nordheim Tapes

for the first records I identified as my favorite for 2008...

Thanks k

I am a fearless contrarian listener - I am not afraid to like stuff just because it is popular. In 1973 lots of people were listening to Emerson Lake and Palmer and Gentle Giant in 1973 and disdaining Stevie Wonder and Led Zeppelin. I of course was interested in the great mainstream music as well as Gong, King Crimson, Escalator over the Hill etc.

I will listen to the Fleet Foxes album with interest.

India Arie is also great.

Have a wonderful Christ Mass.
