OK, but I struggle to see the relevance of this point to the question of whether or not to use nuclear energy in the future.

Does the fact that historically a lot of crops were cultivated exclusively via the exploitation of slaves mean that we should not today eat bananas, use cotton...dye things with indigo? (Strip me of my yellowcake, but please don't take away my indigo!)
