Yes, the Ealing Comedies were great. Alec Guinness was fantastic in Kind Hearts and Coronets. Away from comedy, I'm a big fan of Tod Slaughter. His melodramas were great. He was always so over the top. In his films, everyone was introduced as The Players rather than The Cast. He always had the same supporting actors in D.J. Williams and Eric Portman. I doubt many people these days know of him or would enjoy his films. However, he was an excellent Sweeney Todd in The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
