When I first lived here in 1994 the area all around the steeple had a lot of traveller families living in benders in amongst the rhodedendrons, there was a man known as Knocker who had lived in Steeple woods for 20 years, he died a few years back now.
The travellers were moved out by the council and some years later work began to restore the area to a more natural british environment, the rhodedendrons had taken over of course, it is looking a lot better now and the native trees are becoming established.
I do consider myself blessed to live in such a lovely place as Cornwall.
Small world isn't it? I didn't think anyone else on the forum was from this neck of the woods, kind regards and good night Joe.
