Re: Bands you loved but don't follow anymore

a lot of the bands i don't follow anymore have broken up (used to be a massive pavement fan)

i find i'm more the opposite. of the bands i like currently, i'm mostly interested in their recent stuff. for example, i can't listen to early deerhoof as it just sounds like jagged noise to me but they have developed into a good, slightly skewed pop band with actual *songs*.
also cat power. i dislike her 90s output and think she started really hitting her stride with 'you are free'. i find the dismissal of 'the greatest' by her early fans unfortunate. she's in a good place now and i wish her all the best. indie hipsters are going to have to find another trainwreck to worship.
