What the hell are you talking about?

Ah yes, of course, you're talking about 'The War' of 1812 - whereby the Americans DECLARED the war and were "victorious". Well that's an unusual state of affairs isn't it?

~8^|>

Yes. Quite. Sticky wicket, eh, what?

Everyone knows that the American skirmishes were merely a sideshow of the Big Circus in Europe at the time, the rise and fall of Napoleon!

Potentially an interesting discussion for another Thread. But not to go too far off Topic on this one, the idea in that particular post was mostly about how mistaken perceptions and misconceptions (about History, among other things) often color a person's appreciation of Artists and Art.

(Like the dueling versions of Johnny Horton's "Battle of New Orleans" for example.)

Re: Hito's Thoughtful Insight

Maybe we're going to submit to one of those stuffy audio journals, the kind with no pictures. In essence, this is a good topic.

Elvis isn't called The King for nothing. There's not near enough Elvis love on this board.

Most of the times when I didn't immediately like an artist, it was because an annoying, zealous fan.

Fair enough. It's good to read a post that maintains focus and appears to demonstrate a sound recognition of history and 'facts' (debatable though those 'facts' may be).
