Ah yes, of course, you're talking about 'The War' of 1812 - whereby the Americans DECLARED the war and were "victorious". Well that's an unusual state of affairs isn't it?

Everyone knows that the American skirmishes were merely a sideshow of the Big Circus in Europe at the time, the rise and fall of Napoleon!

Potentially an interesting discussion for another Thread. But not to go too far off Topic on this one, the idea in that particular post was mostly about how mistaken perceptions and misconceptions (about History, among other things) often color a person's appreciation of Artists and Art.

(Like the dueling versions of Johnny Horton's "Battle of New Orleans" for example.)
