Does anyone remember Dots and Stereolab Correspondence?

that was a great board. I heard this girl Dots who started it died. Haven't heard in a few years. It was a tight nit bunch - no flaming.

Robin Humble's board was the best - gave way to Pixelectronique and the Dots board you reference in around 1998.

haha - he walked right in to that one.

I guess though that in 1998 there was a whole lot more happening in 'Lab-world to talk about!

Well in fairness you're dead on there, GaryB. There was no more exciting band on the planet than this one in that space between ETK & D&L (except maybe Komeda, though I doubt anyone shares my opinion there).

Still, I don't think we were debating which sock should go on first or how stupid Americans are back then. Made for a more stimulating board.

Re: Does anyone remember Dots and Stereolab Correspondence?

The board certainly is more fun when we are discussing Stereolab, or music generally.

Re: Does anyone remember Dots and Stereolab Correspondence?

More than that - in those days information on more obscure bands was quite scarce, so the board was a valuable resource for identifying exciting new music. I owe my admiration for groups like Pram, Sea&Cake, Laika and even Komeda to the users of those forums.

If I come off as slightly bitter in my posts on the current board, well... it's only because I remember how good things were. It's like we had this beautiful little community that has become polluted by slightly imbalanced evangelists, shouting perpetual demonstrators, and special needs individuals.

I have lost count of the music I have been introduced to on here, and I have only been here for a year or so. You're a vet., I'm a newbie. Maybe that's the difference?!?!

I'd just like to apologize for Wracket. When his mom lets him out of the cage, hell just breaks loose and we are usually the unfortunate beneficiary of said hell.
