i use various apps.

cant be botherd to list them all, but they include nano studio and iKaossilator and SunVox.

just search for apps in the app store. or look for the latest music apps.

i record to a built-in mic on my laptop.

and use audacity, which is like a track recorder.

its all good fun, really.
