According to their Facebook page, the remasters are out on 7th May, plus a collection of all their Creation EPs and assorted miscellany. We shall see. Hope no one's holding their breath... ............................................... Re: My Bloody Valentine: news or another false hope? So far... nothing. Have you heard the bits and bobs they did record after Loveless, like this splendid Wire cover:

I'm a little surprised/disappointed that one isn't going to be included in the reissues. This one isn't nearly as good, but it's the only other post-Loveless MBV track I know of:

Who knows what would've happened, had Kevin Shields not got the perfectionist curse and mustered instead enough work to get a follow up album ready. Someone suggested in a review that perhaps they would've become a "tired dance band" anyway, so who knows how artistically potent MBV would've remained.

He certainly hasn't sullied the reputation of his old records, that's for sure. I quite like that.

Most notably some songs on the Lost in Translation soundtrack, and apparently was in Primal Scream, and EAR. Still, not the same...

Absolutely true dat. But it's just sad: here's one guy who has created a critically acclaimed masterpiece and everybody expects him to follow up. Yet he has no inspiration whatsoever or just battling other issues that prevent him from putting any effort into working on a follow up. And so rather than immediately announce to the world the plans of resignation/hiatus/retirement/disbandment, there is just silence and good expectations being let down. Sad.

Yeah, Colm O'Ciosoig was the drummer in MBV and he has been a multi instrument collaborator in her band Warm Inventions. Very different styles, but what a resume!
