Sex Pistols is mainly considered for the cultural impact anyway. John Lydon's subsequent Public Image Ltd was musically much more interesting, at least as far as early years is concerned. I guess Metal Box is considered 1980 rather than 1979, that's why it didn't make it to this list.

You can tell by so many punk albums in this list while progressive rock being almost entirely ignored (with the exception of Pink Floyd) what cultural values these critics align themselves with.
