http://www.drudgereport.com/flashpbc.htm True dat boo. Meanwhile Obama emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility, the importance of fathers and families, fiscal literacy, and a whole can do/lead by example attitude that has been lacking in cities like Chicago. There is huge reason Illinois is bankrupt and we have the highest taxes and crime. Beyond the lack of solid jobs and education opportunities, these fundimental issues take precedence. This sort of positivism puts the divisive and harful Jesse Jacksons out of business. No Jesse, it's not talking down to people, and no, you can't cut his nuts off. Your entire "no we can't" platform did far more harm than good and spread alienation. Pelosi and Obama, I salute you. . .today. Cybele ............................................... Regarding dat boo that Nancy Pelosi said about contraception: Legislation to require sex education in high schools would be more economical than creating family services centers(new overhead costs).Since fathers are not teaching their children about this the school would be the next logical place. The other side of the coin, however, is do we want to reduce the population? Reportedly social security is slated to go bankrupt starting around 2050. That affects all of us. When you are 66 you will appreciate the bambinos paying into the social security.

If the point was to hawk contraception and therefore reduce poplulation in areas of public-aide and uninsured, then they're not contributing to Social Security in the first place. The birth-rates in those communities are very high (especially amongst non-white, unwed teenagers). It sounds very Limbaugh of me to say this, but they're not contributing overall to responsible society; responsible society is contributing to their subsistence. I would never want to take it away as a right, but if you factor a recession AND a currupt city/county/state government into the picture--then we're all going down the tube together. Cybele

I have to believe that in 30 years when we look for that payback from the fed that some of those illegitimate and /or less fortunate children you speak of will be in the work force. The law should require that school attendance is mandatory. The schools need to teach what common sense is, not only about sex, but about finances as well. There is no excuse for inner city youth escaping the system just as there is no excuse for Americans being hungry. Since I am a Democrat I believe this great country (the fed) should provide services to help less priviledged Americans. Perhaps family service centers are okay, but looking for more economical ways to provide this help is also ok. I believe things will get better for all Americans if we retain the Democrats.

If you can't see it as a necessary evil and keep your religious opinions to yourself and that's the only reason you don't want to be a Democrat, then you're pretty short-sighted and selfish. There's a saying that says Republicans only care about you until you're born! I'll add that the only others they care about are the filthy rich.

As someone who has voted Republican, I'm all for abortion. Is it really murder? Probably. It's gonna be hot and toasty down there in hell. Hanging around with Lucifer and James Blundt. Cybele |

I'm sorry if this will be great shock to you but my opinion is not religious. I'm not religious. I was raised to be a catholic but hate the catholic church to death. I haven't stepped inside a church since I was 16 (35 now), except when I was the best man at a wedding. Sorry if I offended you. I just want to make sure people consider every alternative before inserting a vacuum cleaner into the featus skull in order to suck up his brain. There are condoms, contraceptives, "coitus interruptus" (my favorite), next-day pills, abstinence, homossexuality a lot of options. Still people behave irresponsibly and the innocents pay. Sorry, I don't think it's right.
