Which Stereolab songs can you play at an average dance party?

Brought to mind by the thread on Mass Riff (and forgive me if this topic has become old hat in the several years since I was last a regular here, or if I already started the same topic ten years ago but don't remember).

Which songs can you play at a party with a mixed audience of non-Lab-obsessed people who just want to dance, something for ordinary party-goers with ordinary tastes in music and an ordinary array of dance moves? So, no epic suites, nothing slow, nothing with an unusual tempo, nothing sad, nothing discordant. Nothing that only hipsters could manage a way to dance to it, lol. A few candidates come to kind. Mass Riff, Emperor Tomato Ketchup (the song), maybe Escape Pod. Yes, those? Anything else?

Welcome back PhotoPhreak. I remember you.

I wish I was more help about your topic. I'm so deeply entrenched when it comes to Stereolab I don't know what would be "normal". I can bop around to just about any Stereolab song. I'll think about it though.

Margerine Melodie sounds like Stereolab's own take on house/dance idiom, so I think that one's rather straightforward four-to-the-floor number.

And how about French Disko? Come to think of it, maybe punkers could pogo to "Sadistic", haha!

I just tend to play all of Soop Groove and if the crowd don't like it, then that's their problem.

agree...Miss Modular always works. Cybele's Reverie as well for obvious reasons. I've seen people groove out to I Was a Sunny Rainphase before.

I have noticed that more difficult tracks like Kyberneticka Babicka get surprising accolades sometimes.

I tend to include whatever is entertaining me at the moment and figure the exposure is good for my guests ears.
