Also, the idea that Biblical prophets were writing about anything that was happening outside of their own time is absurd. Prophets wrote about concerns of the day and what would happen if their people turned away from God. Yet modern "Christians" believe they were writing about something happening 2000 years in the future in a place called America, as if they knew anything about that.

LBO you seem to be in the know. Isn't it the position of the Catholic Church that it is the church itself that is the kingdom of god on Earth, so no rapture or any of that?

Yes, that is the stance of the Roman Catholics...The RC's are right about more things than the "Christians," but they are still wrong about a lot of things.

The Catholic idea is that there will be a renewed earth (which is the same earth). That's why the Lord's Prayer says "thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." "Christians" disregard the earth and animals because they believe God will take them to Heaven and give them a new earth, so it's okay to destroy this one.

A doxology of the church contains the words "World without end, Amen." It is actually the idea that the world is eternal.

Also, the scripture that says we will be "caught up in the air" to meet Christ is mistranslated. The word translated as "caught up" is a word that was used to describe the practice of meeting dignitaries outside city limits and then escorting them into the city.

So, it was the idea that when Christ returns, we will meet him and escort him back to the earth to live with us (not that we will leave the earth).

By right I mean "correct" about their own religion and its origins. For instance, fundamentalist protestants think prophecy means "predicting the future."

I took one of the most filthy, expensive public transportation trains in the world to work today. It took me 40 minutes to get 15 miles to my destination. Otherwise, I've fixed two flat tires in a month on our roads. They resemble the surface of the moon. My mail arrives to me late, in pieces. Our healthcare system is bankrupt. I pay the more taxes than anyone else in the US. Our state is bankrupt. Businesses are fleeing the state. Our public school system is one of the worst in the country. Our murder rate is the highest in the country for a big city. Our government is run by the mob.

In theoretical socialism everybody including the leaders are all of the same working class level. I do not know of any pure socialist countries in the world. Each country has it own style of socialism with its own special hierarchy. Chicago, where you need a moon buggy or maybe a tank is appropriate, is just like so many other areas of the country (and apparently worse from your description) where the government has not properly established infrastructures to take care of the needs of the governed. I love Obama because his goal is to invigorate these infrastructures with building projects. Remember the bridge collapse in Minneapolis? Peoples lives are depending on the old bridges all over the country being rebuilt. Socialism is about saving people! Anti-Christ...no way Hozay!
