That's what then, FOUR Olympics ago? Not really that long of a gap between hosting if you consider how many major countries have never hosted.
And while we're on the '96 Games, why don't you ask the good people of Atlanta what the Olympics did for them? It's a curse to win...I couldn't have been happier when Paris "lost out" to London for the 2012 Games.
