Adrian Younge - The Electronique Void

At the start of 2016, you might recall my getting all excited about Adrian Younge's "Something About April II", which featured Laetitia on several tracks, was bloody great, and which too many of y'all slept on.

Well, now he's put out his second LP of the year, which sounds very different but is just as good IMHO. Featuring mainly antique analogue synths and drum machines from Younge's vast collection of same, the odd bit of vocoder plus boffinesque narration by Jack Waterson, it's marvellously pretentious and with more than the odd nod to the music of Stereolab (although that may just be a shared love of French 70s electronic soundtracks).
