Melodically speaking

What are the Lab's best song when it comes to melody?

The type of song you can hum someone, and it's beauty would be apparent. Interestingly a song like John Cage Bubblegum would not to well here even though it is a great great song.

I'll start off by nominating Spinal Column.

Re: Melodically speaking

I gravitate toward songs that have some emotional melodic component, or something fun about the harmonies I can sing along with, which is a lot of them actually.

As far as emotionally based, I would think Come Play in the Milky Night would be a contender. Think of every element, the great base line, the great chord progression, the humming intro, pure bliss. And it emotes americana and the wild west. Oh wait, the actual melody that Laetitia sings isn't really quite up to what you are asking maybe. Bah, I don't know... I like the way all the elements work together so well in a bigger than Stereolab kind of way.

Seconded. Also, the end part of Captain Easychord....very Kraftwerkian. And Double Rocker! Finally, I adore the melody in The Super-It.
